The u-14 Camogie Roinn C County Final replay took place during the week in Grennan GAA grounds, Thomastown. The weather conditions were ideal and the match was highly entertaining, such was the skill and speed of the young players.

The Kilkenny under-14 ladies football team captured their first division 3 title at the Leinster Blitz over the weekend.

This first round encounter of the minor hurling championship match in Bennttsbridge between Thomastown and James Stephens began on an unsavoury note with James Stephens’ full-back Diarmuid Kelly getting sent off by referee Maurice Flynn after a dangerous tackle on Thomastown corner forward Thomas O’Hanrahan.

For the third year in a row Railyard and Thomastown met in the ladies senior football championship final and while the gap may be narrowing Railyard’s experience paid off to see them claim the title for the fourth year in a row. Thomastown had ten points to spare over Mullinavat in the semi final, while Railyard were rattled by Freshford who came within five points of dethroning the champions.
